REVIEW: Bully

February 15, 2007

So I finished up Bully the other night. I would of finished it sooner had I not taken a vacation right when I just started playing. So when I got back, I decided that since I didn't get too far into the game, and so everything would be fresh in my head, I started over from the beginning. Overall, I really enjoyed Bully. Not the hardest game in the world, but it was very fun. I didn't spend a whole lot of time on doing alot of the side missions and such, but I feel that I am not really missing anything anyway. So, lets get to it!

The graphics are decent, but not the greatest. Bully uses an advanced version of the GTA: San Andreas engine. The engine wasn't the greatest looking when you first saw it in San Andreas, and its the same thing with Bully. Its not to say that Bully is an awful looking game, it just that there is much better graphics out there. It gets the job done well.

Sound. As with other Rockstar games, they always seem to have solid sound work in all their games and Bully shows that off again. The voice acting is great and fits all the characters , and I just loved the soundtrack. Unlike other Rockstar games, Bully uses a fully original soundtrack. It fits the game perfectly and I was surprised how much I really liked it. Most of the music has a kind of bass heavy funky beat to it that just worked great with what I was doing in the game. I would love to see more of it in other Rockstar games.

On to gameplay, not a whole lot to say about it really. If you have played a GTA before, you already now what to expect. Its like a kids version of GTA. Like I said, it not all that hard, and if you really sat down with it, you could probably breeze through it in a weekend. Really, its maybe one of the more polished games I have played in a while so I really don't have anything bad to say about it. There is a TON of stuff to do... plenty of mini games and side missions.

Anyway, if you are looking for a good game, I would definitely recommend that you check it out. It has a pretty good story to keep things interesting and has alot of other side missions and such that are really fun. Its a solid game and sure to keep you busy until God of War II comes out. ;)

I don't think I need to say anything else.
