REVIEW: Kingdom Hearts

Think I forgot about this thing?.... I THINK NOT!!!

July 29, 2006

Kingdom Hearts is down!

If it wasn't for the trip I took to AZ, I would of finished this game a week ago. Man... has it been that long since I took down a game? June 4th to July 29th? Oh well.... better late than never.

So anyway, overall, it was an alright game. Not the 30 out of 10 that ED wants to give it, but it was alright. I loved going to all the worlds and seeing all my favorite Disney characters, and it was just awesome to have all the great voice acting. The story was a little so-so, but it was still alright. The one world I really hated though was Atlantica. Man what a pain in the ass that world was. Really sloppy controls, and the music just drove me nuts.

Also, what I really hated was the AI. Damn it, I lost count of how many times both Donald and Goofy wanted to throw a healing potion at me. It was like they wanted to waste one just for the hell of it. Or how I would heal my self, only to have them both throw a potion, now wasting two. And another thing, you would think that in this day and age, when someone is making a game, they would put in the choice to skip a cut scene. As much as I enjoy watching them, when I have a sit through the same one 3 times just because I lost to the boss, it becomes really old, really fast. Why, why, why on Earth did Square forget about this? Did I maybe miss something and not push the right one? The only thing I could do was pause the game during a cut scene... which I will admit is really nice and wish more Devs would do that. Hell, Naughty Dog goes the extra mile and SHOWS you which button will skip it.

Oh well... my only hope is that they fixed all those problems in Kingdom Hearts II.

But anyway, I enjoyed it, and plan to play the second once I find some more time, but until then, its back to games! (Ok I couldn't think of anything good...)
